Your first consultation is probably the most important visit.  You will see the difference in our approach from your very first visit.  We will take a very detailed history and get to know everything about your headaches and other symptoms in detail.  Every detail is important to us and helps us get closer to diagnosing the root cause.  By the end of the visit, we will have a good idea what is causing your migraine and we will explain it to you in detail.  We will recommend some tests to confirm or rule out our theory.  You will be scheduled for a follow up visit in order to review the test results and create a customized treatment plan for you.

We understand the standard of care talks about migraine being idiopathic or without a cause.  Many even say it is genetic.  We believe none of it is true.  Everything has a cause. We may or may not know the cause, but everything has a cause.  We must look in the right places to find it.  As far as genetics go, no gene has been identified for Common or classic Migraine.  The only gene identified is for Familial Hemiplegic Migraine which is a relatively rare disorder.

The detailed History and Physical exam during your first consultation is the guiding light for your diagnosis.  The theory will be further confirmed or rejected through testing.  You will feel the difference in our approach from the very first consultation.  Most patient tell us we asked questions, we did examination, and we ordered tests that no other doctor had done previously.

We accept most major insurances.  The consultations and tests are usually covered by insurance.  The treatment is not covered by insurance.  However, most patients tell us the treatment is less expensive than buying all the medications and the days they lost to migraine.  They have told us repeatedly, they can’t put a price of how well that feels and how their life has changed.
